Some things I did not know about A.R Rahman

"Born A. S. Dileep Kumar, he changed his name to Allah Rakkha Rahman when he converted to Sufi Islam in his early 20s."

Catching up on NY Times, I came across this interesting piece on A.R Rahman, affectionately known as ARR. This may be common knowledge but I had no idea that he was born A.S Dileep Kumar and converted to Sufi islam. That explains why a part of his music has always appealed to me as I am a big fan of Sufi (kinda) music.

  A. R. Rahman is one of India’s most prolific film composers.
